It rained on and off overnight, and the weather was definitely cooler than the last few days.
First task today is to pick up friend Donna at the BC Ferry terminal at Swartz Bay, 35 minutes up the road.
Before lunch was served, drinks and conversation were in order.
After a superb salad lunch, Jen decided it was rest time. I took Donna to the Laurel Point Inn. After checking in, Donna and I strolled the city streets.
We dropped by the BC Museum and purchased tickets for our visit tomorrow. Along with the Museum, the IMAX theatre, which has the largest IMAX screen in BC, has two films we want to see, both in 3D!:
Great Bear Rain Forest & Volcano. I'm looking forward to those. Should be fun!
This doesn't look like much in the photo, but all the trees in a ball shape were neat to look at. This is looking down the street; it was the same looking up the street.
It was time for something to drink. As we looked for a suitable cafe, we walked past this building under construction.

On closer inspection, this is the facade of the old Customs House building. See how you can see through the window openings. The steel framework is to keep the original stone work in place.
Yeah, you guessed it. Soon-to-be exclusive residences!
We crossed the road and walked up the street. Well what do you know - a cafe called Milanos! The same group as in Comox!
After refreshments, we walked across the street to take a look at the "inside" of the old Customs House.
We decided that Greek was on the menu for dinner tonight. I made reservations for 19:00 at Ithaka, a family run restaurant just off downtown.
The food was great - we'd not had greek for quite some time. It was super!
After dropping Donna off at her hotel, on the way back to the park, I stopped and took a couple of pictures.
Tomorrow is supposed to be not that great, so we are going to visit the BC Museum. We haven't been to the museum for years - something to look forward to!
Spring is in the air in Victoria! Hard to see but the colour of this rhodie at the back of the old school house was lovely.
