What a pleasant change from yesterday morning. Today we have a little breeze and warming temperatures. I just had to dig out my shorts & t-shirt again.
After we picked up Donna from her hotel, we headed to Beacon Hill park, overlooking the Strait of Juan De Fuca.
Sunday April 7 A little cool, but definitely shorts weather! Victoria, BC
We found the Terry Fox memorial and took a couple of pictures.
We continued into the park past the large watering can.
I'll let the pictures do the talking from here.
On the way back to Alfie, we stopped to gaze at the World's Tallest (freestanding) Totem Pole.
This plaque is affixed to the totem pole.
From Beacon Hill we headed to Gorge Waterway Park. We enjoyed coffee and snacks at Gorgeous Coffee across the street.
After coffee we strolled along the walkway for a short distance so Jen could stretch her legs.
We returned to Alfie a short while later - it was time to head to Sidney, just south of the BC Ferries terminal at Swartz Bay. Donna is booked on the 4 pm sailing back to the lower mainland.
We enjoyed a bite to eat at Cafe Beacon on Sidney's main drag.
All too soon it was time to say goodbye to our sweetheart friend Donna. We're hoping we might be able to get together during the week we are visiting the Fraser Valley.
A quick stop/drop off at the ferry terminal and we headed south back to the RV park.
What a delightful weekend with our equally delightful friend!
