Monday April 22                                                    Overcast                                             Fraser Canyon, BC
After a delightful week of catching up with old friends and neighbours, it was time to move on. Fortunately for yours truly, the rain held off as I connected Alfie & Ali for the trip up the Fraser Canyon.

This is one of our most favourite drives and while the weather was a little "iffy", the rain held off for the most part.
We pulled off Hwy 1 just before Hope, BC for a coffee at one of our favourite cafes, only to find it was closed (Easter Monday!). Oh well, we moved on to Hope, BC where the Blue Moose café was open.

One of the magazines we leafed through as we enjoyed our morning coffee had an advert for the Emory Bar RV Park just a few clicks up the highway. It sounded pretty nice so we stopped for one night. Full hookups for $35/nt.

Today was a nice short day, just what the doc ordered. We were in camp and set up shortly after noon.

Tomorrow we'll continue our journey to 100 Mile House.

Tuesday Apr 23—Emory Bar RV Park to 100 Mile House

Luck was with us again this morning. A few very slight spits of rain as we were making Alfie & Ali ready for travel.

We were on the road by 10 a.m. The heavens opened as we headed north into the Canyon. But after a short while we began to see blue sky peeking out from among the clouds. By the time we arrived in Lytton, the sun was shining; the temperature hit 21C.

Coffee was the first order of business. I wandered over and took a picture of the mighty muddy Fraser River and the clear blue Thompson River coming together.
Jen sat at a picnic table while I walked closer to the railroad tracks below the little park we where at.

Lo and behold, here comes CP!

There's still a lot of snow on them thar hills!

We stopped at the Packing House café in Spences Bridge for a delicious lunch then continued on to 100 Mile House.

We arrived at my old chum Colin's place just before 5 p.m. It had been a long day and we were both tired.

We chatted with Colin & Mary for a while, over a cuppa then retired to Ali for a well deserved rest.

We'll be here for a week or so, so if anything exciting happens, I will post. If not, I'll be back next week when we move to lower elevations and Clearwater, BC.
