Tuesday Aug 6 Sunny & hot Salmo, BC
Before we take you to Salmo today , I just want to share some pictures of the flora, fauna, and critters around the park...
So, off we go to Salmo. Today, we are going to visit the family-run grocery store that has radio controlled model aircraft suspended from the ceiing.
Looking back up the valley to Castlegar. The airport is to the right.
We've never driven Hwy 3 from Castlegar to Salmo. After passing the Castlegar airport, we started the climb to Bombi Summit (1,214m - 3,974') and from the summit it was all downhill into Salmo.
In Salmo, we parked Alfie then walked to the Dragonfly cafe. We sat outside in the shade and watched the world go by.
The old architecture is interesting.
We checked out the grocery store.
On the way out of Salmo, we found this covered bridge and had a closer look.
Okay, so that's it for Salmo. We headed back to Castlegar, put out the awning, and relaxed in the shade.
As I write this entry mid-afternoon, it is 99.7F, 37.4C outside in the shade. Phew, time a tall cool one!
