Monday Sep 2 Sunny & warm Hope, BC
This morning I cooked breakfast for the ladies—bacon & eggs, toast & jam, and coffee. It was a lovely morning to sit outside and eat.
After the breakfast dishes were done, we chatted for a while, enjoying the sunshine peeking through the trees.
Okay, it's time to get on with the day.
Donna wanted to walk around the campground and take some pictures for her girlfriends Deb & Karen just in case they want to camp in Hope at some future point. Her phone was low on juice so I took pictures on my phone (I must remember to email them to Donna).
Donna wanted to see if there was any access to the Fraser River from the campground (campground level is about 20' above the river).
We found this sandy beach behind one campsite.
Afterwards, the three of us headed into Hope, with Jen in her wheelchair.
We headed for the Blue Moose café. We've stopped here before. Jen knew they had a small number of items that met Donna's dietary requirements. We snagged a table on the patio out front and Donna & I headed indoors to get some drinks and treats.
Good thing we didn't waste any time as we no sooner ordered, turned around, and were faced with a lineup of people right to the front doors! Where did they all come from??
After the Blue Moose we headed for the Hope Centennial waterfront park.
While Jen and Donna chatted, I went to look at the chain saw carvings out front. I passed this plaque on the way.
On the way back to meet the ladies, I took this pic. You might be able to find Donna & Jen.
As we began walking back to the campground, we passed this signpost.
Donna left us just after 2 p.m. We had a lovely, but too short, visit. We've invited her to come visit us back "home" in Comox later this fall.
Wednesday we head for Horseshoe Bay and BC Ferries. We're not sure what we're going to be doing tomorrow, so join us next time.
