The rail line that runs through Creston is a busy one. At least one train a day runs through town, usually after dark.
So, after dinner this evening, when I heard a train blowing its horn and it sounded distinctly like it was heading our direction, I decided to walk up to the tracks and check out what was happening.
Here's the lay of the land around the Columbia Brewery and the rail line. The siding that curves around the back of the brewery complex splits into 3 tracks.
When I arrived at the rail crossing, the train was just approaching the crossing.
The train stopped, disconnected behind the first hopper, and proceeded to push it into the brewery siding. Then the engines re-appeared, connected to the rest of the train, and then headed east out of town. Boy the horn was certainly loud.
