May 11 - Boston Bar to Cache Creek, Brookside Campsite

Well, I thought the weather forecast was for some rain today, so I was pleasantly surprised to wake up to sunny skies again!!
We left Alpine Canyon RV Park around 10 a.m. this morning after saying goodbye to Brent, the park owner. He and his wife, Brenda, were a real treat to chat with. Brenda is from the Phillipines and she and Brent have decided to move there full-time. So if you were thinking you'd like to own a really nice RV park, house, and shop, AND have a spare $650,000, give Brent a call!
We trucked up the highway, continuing to be awed by the spectacular scenery in the Fraser Canyon. The turning into Lytton soon appeared. Off the highway, we pulled up in front of the tourist bureau. Across the road is an old CN caboose complete with an N-scale model railway inside. Darn if it wasn't closed, but I managed a picture through the door.
At the end of the road is a great spot to look at the confluence of the mighty, muddy Fraser, and the aqua-blue waters of the Thompson.
I said to Jen I would like to try making a video. I walked over to a good spot. Of course, there was Murphy!! I only had my BlackBerry, not the tablet! And wouldn't you know it, here comes the world famous Rocky Mountaineer!! Oh well, I did take some photos.
We made a cup of tea for the journey to Cache Creek and arrived at Brookside Campsite just after 1 p.m. The sites are small, but have everything we need for a comfortable 2-day stay.
Tomorrow we are heading, minus the trailer, for Canada's largest open pit copper mine just west of Logan Lake.
