We decided that today would be a "down" day - not a lot of driving, etc. so we thought we would take the short drive into Quesnel and see what was happening.
Our first stop was the Visitor's Centre.
Armed with lots of brochures we headed into the downtown area and parked the van.
All of the fire hydrants are painted to represent various "characters" who had a hand in making Quesnel what it is today. We saw quite a few of them; here are some of them.
After a "pit" stop back at the van, we headed towards the River Walk. It was considerably cooler down by the mighty Fraser. Boy the river was high - we were told part of the river walk was under water - because of the spring melt.
Later in the afternoon, I went grocery shopping - the temperature on the van's thermometer was 32!!
Tomorrow we head for Barkerville.
