June 10 - Mackenzie, BC
We left Prince George this morning under cloudy skies - good driving weather!

Driving up Hwy 97, we were amazed (but probably shouldn't have been) with the number of loaded logging trucks heading south. One after another they came at us! The drive wasn't particularly exciting, but occasionally there were carpets of alpine flowers in the woodlands - hard to get a decent picture at 100kmh, but they sure were pretty. They reminded us of our walks in Manning Park many years ago.

We had booked into an RV park at the PetroCan station (??) at Mackenzie Junction. After a quick peeky-boo at the "RV Park", we decided to hit the Tourist Info caboose across the road. The young lady was very helpful, suggesting we might like the municipal campground in Mackenzie - 29 kms up the road.

So back on the road again for a short drive!

We "did" Mackenzie - drove up the main drag, did the photo-op at The Tree Crusher, then headed back to camp for Jen's afternoon rest.

Tomorrow we head for Chetwynd.

Now here's some excellent advice for you city slickers, compliments of the The Mackenzie Visitors' Guide - what to do if you come nose-to-nose with a wild animal:
