July 16-17 - McBride, BC
We left Prince George early on a misty morning. Along the way, we stopped at The Inland Temperate Rain Forest, but didn't go explore.
We continued on our way and just when it was time for a break, lo and behold there was a rest stop. We sat by the side of a rushing stream enjoying our Mulled Apple tea. I took Mattie for a walk and was caught in the act.
We arrived at Beaverview RV Park and Campground and were assigned a open site with trees at the back. It was fine until the park filled with rigs and kids who promptly starting kicking a soccer ball around in amongst the RVs.

After Jen had her afternoon rest, we headed into the thriving metropolis of McBride.
It is really unfortunate that a lot of the small towns we've been through in BC are struggling to survive. I'm sure if CN pulled out of McBride, it would become a ghost town. There were many properties and businesses for sale. A sad statement of today's economics!

Earlier in the day, I showed Jen a couple of the more secluded sites along the river. She liked them better than where we were, so we asked if we could move and we did when we returned from town.
We had a lovely secluded site with a nicer view of the Fraser River and mountains beyond.
The next day, Friday, we headed into McBride for the weekly Farmer's Market. By far the biggest seller seemed to be the yeast donuts! People were walking out with 1/2 dozen or more of them. We resisted altho I was sorely tempted!

Tomorrow we head for Clearwater, BC. My old chum Colin's sister lives there. It's been years since we've seen Janet and Dave so we are hoping to find them at home.

See you in Clearwater!

For lunch we enjoyed one of Jen's famous veggie sandwiches. Later in the afternoon, we had tea outside - no bugs!
