July 23-26 - Merritt, BC (cont'd)
Sunday morning and time for the Show and Shine Car Show. Uh, oh, it's raining!
We took our time this morning as it was raining lightly. When it seemed like it wasn't going to stop anytime soon, we decided to head out for a coffee/tea. Brambles coffee shop was closed so we headed to Starbucks.
We left Starbucks a short while later and drove into the sunshine! We did a tour of the car show then headed back to the rig- the walk around the cars was much longer than I think Jen anticipated so she was bushed.
I left Jen and Mattie resting and headed back to the car show. Threatening clouds were hanging over the hills.
Tomorrow we leave for Hope, BC. We could drive directly there via Hwy 5, the Coquihalla, but if you have ever driven from Merritt to Hope, you know that it is akin to driving down a toilet bowl - you just go down, and down, and down, then down some more.
Instead we are going to drive Hwy 8 to Spences Bridge, then Hwy 1 down through the Fraser Canyon. We can't get enough of the scenery through the canyon. We are booked into Wild Rose RV Park so there is no rush.
So that's about it for Merritt. It's a pretty little town with a lot of amenities. We're sure glad we decided to stop and explore.
