It rained overnight – hopefully where the forest fires are burning too! We were told that the Alaska Hwy down by Prophet River was closed for a second day because of forest fires.
Fortunately for us, we are heading south on Hwy 37 to Iskut and the Mountain Shadow RV Park. Boy, the Stewart-Cassiar Highway was ROUGH down to Boya Lake provincial park–about 60 miles of it!! I even asked Jen if she wanted to turn around! But after the provincial park, the road was much improved. Even the speed limit increased to 90 km/h!
After a stop at Deas Lake for gas and a bite of lunch we arrived mid-afternoon in paradise a.k.a. Iskut. WOW, what a view to look out on!
We are just here for one night – there is really nothing around save for Iskut proper 2 km south.
Tomorrow we head for Stewart, BC for a couple of days.
