Oct 01 - Crescent City, CA
It was another lovely morning on the Oregon coast. We have been so lucky with the weather!

We left Camp Blanco RV Park in Port Orford just before 10 a.m. and headed south. This was a nice park and we would definitely stay there again.

At the Ophir wayside, right down by the beach, we pulled in and made coffee & tea. We sat, looking out at the mighty Pacific Ocean, thinking how lucky we are to be doing what we are doing.
It was so peaceful and tranquil, just listening to the waves on the shore, it was hard to leave.

But we climbed back into the van and continued our journey south.

Here are some shots from our ace photographer along the way.
We set up camp then I went for a bike ride while Jen rested. We got together for afternoon tea on the water's edge. We watched the pelicans coming and going. They appear to have a strange way of landing in the water - they come swooping in just above the water, very gracefully. As they slow down, they touch down and almost immediately make a turn - kinda like they're getting ready to take off again.

Just after noon, we pulled into Brookings. Aha, there's Fred Myers; let's stop for gas. We were just about 1/2 empty, 1/2 full depending on your outlook. At $2.39/gal, we filled up for $38!

We crossed into California and continued on to Crescent City. After a visit to the tourist bureau, we headed just around the corner to the Shoreline RV Park right on the harbour.
For dinner we cooked up a mess of Chicken Fajitas with Jen's spicy salsa and drank some nice Blackberry wine.
Observant readers will notice the bottle is empty. It was GOOOOOD!!

After dinner we Skyped with good friend Betty back 'ome. It was nice to chat with her!

We were both a little tired from a full day (and my 12k bike ride), so we just relaxed for the evening.

We've decided to stay another day here. Tomorrow we are going to take a gondola ride over, maybe through, some of the Redwoods. Stay tuned.
