Feb 17 - Parksville to Campbell River, BC
Well, after 4 months of condo life at Ocean Trails
resort in Parksville, we were itching to get back on
the road.
With the modifications to Ali completed, and after over-
nighting at friends, Betty and Frank's, we headed north to
Salmon Point RV Park for a couple of weeks.
Like many of our visits to places on Vancouver Island over the
years, we haven't spent a whole lot of time exploring the Campbell
River area. In the next couple of weeks we hope to resolve that.
Before we left this morning, I installed our new GPS - "Maud" - above
the rear view mirror. Things were going fine until, all of a sudden, the
rear view mirror decided it didn't like its new neighbour, I guess, and left -
straight down. The glue holding the mirror had let go. But the good news
was Maud works! And even better, and quite unexpectedly, turns herself on when I
turn the key on and goes off when I turn the key off!
So now all I have to do is get someone to re-attach the mirror - I tried doing that myself once before with my truck with no success, so I will leave that to the experts. [Update - I got some good stuff from Lordco on Saturday - re-attached the mirror just fine.]
Other than that, the trip up to Salmon Point was uneventful and rainy. Fortunately the rain subsided while we were setting up camp. As I write this later in the evening, the rain is back. But Jennie and I are snug and warm in Ali.
Until something exciting happens....
