Apr 24 - Coeur d'Alene, ID (elevation: 667m / 2,188')
After a good night's rest we were raring to go. Jen had made a list of places she wanted to see so we drove into CDA, parked Alfie, and headed off for a walking tour. We walked through the downtown park out to the water's edge.
Heading back, we found the entrance to the Boardwalk – the world's longest wooden floating boardwalk, all 3,300' of it, that surrounds a large marina. We walked for a while, then decided, as the boardwalk completely encloses a large marina, that Jen would head back the way we came and I would continue forward. The main reason we went in different directions was the high bridge over the entrance to the marina – we both knew we would not find an elevator – it's not that big a bridge!
Here's the panoramic view from the top of the bridge:
We met up a short while later and continued our walk together.
After lunch, we went looking for Post Falls, the actual falls that Post Falls is named after. While the falls are no longer there, there is the Post Falls dam. What an impressive site. From the parking lot, we worked our way up the channel to the dam.
To be replaced with video once I figure out what's not right between FireFox and YouTube.
Some additional interesting information: The Corbin Ditch.
Back at Alfie, it was time to head back to camp so Jen could have her afternoon rest.

We've decided to move to an RV park in Coeur d'Alene on the Spokane river just a short distance from downtown Coeur d'Alene. So that'll be the first item on Monday's agenda.

See you tomorrow.
