After 3 days in Ashby, MA, it was time to move on. Today we headed down the highway, through Connecticut and New York towards Port Jervis, NY. I wasn't quite sure whether we would make it that far, but it gave us a destination to shoot for.
We continued just past Port Jervis into Milford, PA where we stopped at a PenDOT Information Center. Boy, were we impressed with the staff. We asked Shari if there was a campground close by and she recommended River Beach just down the road. Then she picked up the phone and called the campground for us. What a pleasant surprise.
We drove the short distance to the
campground, checked in, and set up camp.
Then we walked to the river's edge to have
a look at the Delaware River.
Along the way, we drove over the Hudson River, just a short distance north of New York City.
It was a good idea to visit the river as we no sooner got back to Ali that the skies darkened and it began to rain. Thanks to cable at the campground, we watched some of the Olympics on tv.
Tomorrow we drive to the Gettysburg area. We'll spend a couple of days there before heading to our friends Francis & Suze in Bethesda, MD.
