We said goodbye to our good friends, Fran & Suze,
yesterday morning. We had a lovely visit and thoroughly
enjoyed visiting Washington, DC with them.
Entering Kentucky, the first thing we saw was a very large refinery on the left.
Continuing west along the Interstate, we passed through Charleston and its capitol building.
We arrived in Frankfort, KY and booked into Elkhorn Campground for 3 nights. We leave Saturday a.m. for points west. See you next time.
Jen was looking out for horse farms and caught this one as we sped by.
A long drive today with no planned destination so when we arrived in Beckley WV we stopped at the local WalMart for the night. The sun sank in the west and the temperature dropped. By morning, it was 66F in Ali. Here's the sunrise.
But it is time to start heading west, back to Vancouver Island, to arrive sometime in October.
Not terribly exciting but here are some of the pictures Jen took along the way. Interestingly, we did one "pass" through the Shenandoah/Blue Ridge/Appalachian mountains at 2,765'.
