Sep 11 - Kelowna & Enderby, BC
It was an easy drive until we got to West Kelowna, then it was like driving into a major city – one hour to get there, then one hour to get through (almost!). I guess between West Kelowna and Kelowna, they pretty much are major cities.

Years ago when Jen & I wanted "out" of the hustle and bustle of the lower mainland we visited the Okanagan as a potential place to live. Lots of other people apparently did too, because this area now is really no different than the lower mainland – just the scenery is different. Oh, Kelowna may have some redeeming qualities but it is just plain busy. Not the sleepy little town we knew decades ago.

We'd made arrangements to meet up with my old hiking buddy, Fred and his wife Solange, at a coffee shop in Winfield. We've stayed in touch over the years but it was 35 years ago that we hiked in the Yukon. Where have the years gone?

This morning we left the south Okanagan and headed north.
What a treat it was to see them both again, oh and Molly too, their "Marley" yellow lab. Judy made dinner and we enjoyed ourselves immensely chatting about anything and everything. I think we even solved some world problems too.

Tomorrow we head further north. See you then.

All too soon, it was time to say goodbye and continue our journey north. We're heading for Enderby, BC for the night to visit with Judy & Gary, fellow campers, whom we met on our trip to Whitehorse last year.
