Wednesday May 29 Sunny & pleasant Meadow Creek, BC
This morning we drove north to Meadow Creek to visit the general store there. We were quite impressed with the items in the store and especially the prices—not exorbitant, in fact quite reasonable.
We picked up a brownie and an Oso Negro coffee, then drove to the Duncan dam lookout a few clicks up a gravel road.
We figured we were actually on the dam itself, however, we could not see the water behind the dam. But the water in the picture was the "runoff" from the dam. That's the Lardeau Valley. Pretty, eh?
After enjoying our coffee and treat, we drove back down to the main highway. Which way? We turned right. I wanted to see the "end of the road."
Well, not exactly the end of the road, but certainly the end of the pavement!
The Shelter Bay Ferry is 100 kms over a gravel road. I'm not sure I would want to do that. But you can see where the double yellow lines end—that's the beginning of the 100 kms of gravel road.
That was the excitement for the day. We headed back to camp. See you next time.
