Friday Sep 4 - Thursday Sep 10 Qualicum Beach/Parksville, BC
Friday we drove to Qualicum Beach to our friends Betty & Frank's. It was a pretty quiet weekend as they had company for a couple of days. We continued our social distancing.
As we were hooking up, I spotted this "bug" on Alfie's back bumper!
It sure looks like a pine cone that has sprouted!
On Monday, we drove south to Parksville to friends Bob & Lois's. Lois's son Scott (Oak Bay Bikes) delivered an electric bike he thought his mum would enjoy. I had an opportunity to have a go on a ride with Bob.
Talk about FUN! Three electric modes: Eco, Normal, High. Basically these refer to the amount of power assist as you pedal. I loved the sound of the electric motor as I went up through the gears. It was kinda like Skytrain as it accelerates. The electric assist sure smooths out the ride - hills are no longer a problem. But if you want to ride as a normal bike (no assist), you quickly realize you are pedalling a heavier bike.
After a successful ride, Jen took this picture.
On Thurday, we hooked up Ali and drove to Whiskey Creek. We're there for 10 days. If we get up to anything interesting, I will update the blog.
