June 1 Osoyoos, Castlegar, & Creston, BC
And finally, after a long, brutal 1st gear pull, we reach the summit.
There's snow in them thar hills!!
We met Joel & Donna as planned and enjoyed a leisurely hour or so catching up. Before we knew it, it was time to get back in the van and continue our journey east.
This next part of the drive I was not looking forward to - the Salmo - Creston, over the Kootenay Pass (1.782m / 5,846').
We've a few miles to go before we get to Salmo and the start of the climb. Notice the snow-covered hills in the distance!
Before we get to Castlegar, we have to climb up and over Paulson summit (1,466m / 4,744').
This morning we were up bright and early. We had a coffee "date" with our winter Cape Lazo neighbours in Castlegar. They been travelling BC Okanagan for the past few weeks on their first big trip in their Leisure Travel Van.
We arranged, before we left Comox, to meet up with them Jun 1. They're heading west from Castlegar and we're heading east through Castlegar to Creston.
From here, it is literally all downhill.
We arrived at Scottie's RV Park in Creston just before 3 p.m.
I'll update the blog if anything exciting happens.
