We been here over a month and we have not yet re-visited the Skimmerhorn Winery! It's just a short distance from Scotties (blue dot).
Another nice morning so we're off.
It was very busy when we arrived. Lots of people dining out on the deck. I wasn't quite sure if they were still offering tastings.
But, yes, wine tasting was in order. So we tried a few. It was very interesting. Back in '19, there wasn't one that we didn't like. This visit, we weren't excited about any of them.
But as we sampled the various wines, I kept looking at the people enjoying lunch on the deck. I suggested to Jen we should stop and have lunch. She was in total agreement.
A selection of local meats and cheeses, pepper jelly, nuts, fruit, and crackers. Lunch was quite tasty.
As we left the winery, Jen stopped to admire the roses and some of the other plantings.
Years ago I had a 1994 Chevy Silverado pickup truck. That truck series was a classic. Today's "modern" North American pickup trucks are huge! Notice that the top of the hood is level with Jen's shoulder. You literally need steps below the doors to climb into these behemoths!
On the way back, we stopped at a fruit market. Not much available yet as this spring was so wet and cool. Most people figure we are well over a month behind compared to "normal" year.
As we walked out to the van, I couldn't help but notice an ice cream stand just at the corner of the lot. Yes! Fiinally! Peanut Butter/ Chocolate!
As we were chatting with the young man behind the counter, the topic of bikes come up. I told him about my "new" electric Swytch bike. He mentioned he had looked at the kit.
Next time I'm on my way back from the Community Centre, I told him I'd stop by and let him have ago.
That's all for today. See you next time.
