Saturday, August 13 Castlegar, BC
While we are not impacted by forest fires here in Castlegar, it is very obvious that there are fires in the Kootenays and beyond. Each day, water bombers land and take off frequently during the daylight hours.
As of today, I'm told there are 4 water bombers in service. If you would like to read about Tanker 489, click here.
Farmer's Market today, so off we go. How about the hanging baskets at the local TimberMart in Castlegar. The Farmers' Market is just up the street.
The Farmers' Market was about half the size it was last week. I wonder if some sellers just come every other week?
After a quick purchase of Kootenay Kicker salad, we headed for Millenium Park. We visited this park during our last visit in 2019.
Right on the banks of the Columbia River, this park's paved walkway is great for Jen's power chair. We wandered by the river, across the bridge, past the Bike park and back to Alfie.
The river is very high right now.
Here's a closer look at those trees in the middle of the river.

We finished off the day with a visit to the Castlegar Golf Club where we demolished some chicken wings.
