Friday, August 19 Castlegar, BC
Our girlfriend, Donna, arrived this morning from the lower mainland.
The first order of business was going to the health food store to buy some staples for Donna.
Castlegar is known for its sculptures that are all over town. As this is Donna's first visit to Castlegar, we decided to have a look at the sculptures in this area of town.
As today is a Castlegar day, we then drove to Millenium Park and walked the paved trail along the Columbia River.
Later in the afternoon, while Jen rested, Donna & I walked from the park to the Brilliant Bridge which is beside, and below, the newer highway bridge.
The flood gates on the Brilliant dam must be fully open. The river is really high.
That's it for today. Tomorrow we drive south to Trail, up the hill to Rossland, then west to Christina Lake, and back to Castlegar. We want to show Donna as much as we can of the Kootenays.
