Wednesday, Aug 31                                                                                                                       Nelson, BC
Today is our last opportunity to restock our Gin supply. The Wednesday Farmer's Market in Nelson is today so off we go.

Arriving in Nelson, our usual handicap parking spot on the main street was taken, so we continued driving. Rats, they're all taken. A couple of right turns had us heading back past the library. Ah, there's a handicap spot on a side street, perpendicular to the street. It was at this end of the row so in order to get Jen's chair out, I backed in.

We were almost immediately accosted by a by-law officer who told us that we should have driven straight into the parking spot. When I explained that had we done that, we wouldn't have been able to get Jen's chair out - that backing in was the only option, the official explained that drivers coming along the street "expected" vehicles to back out. Rubbish we thought. I continued getting Jen's chair out and we headed off for coffee. Interestingly, while at coffee, the bylaw officer walked by, saying hello as he passed.

More signs like this one are needed!! --->

If you've followed us on our blog, you've seen pictures of Nelson. The architecture of this old town is really unique, if you take the time to stop and look. Here are a few of the buildings that line the main street.
After coffee we headed for the Market, found the Wynndel Craft Distillery booth, and purchased a couple of bottles of Butterfly Blue. Hopefully these will last for a while!
