Tuesday, Sep 6                                                                                                                             Nakusp, BC
This morning, we drove down the hill to the pretty little town of Nakusp. There were flower beds everywhere!
Strolling along Broadway, the main drag, we came across the old Opera House.

After stopping at a café for a coffee and a treat, we continued our walk. We headed for the paved walkway along the shores of Upper Arrow Lake.

You can see the smoke in the distance from the forest fires in BC as well as in Washington state.

We have been extremely fortunate this summer as the forest fire situation has not been nearly as bad in the Kootenays as last year.
We walked by lovely gardens and then into a Japanese garden of sorts.

Continuing to stroll along the waterfront, we overlooked the beach. Must be September! I'll bet this beach was packed during the hot summer months just past.

The paved walkway ended, but we continued along the side of the road. I see some railway equipment ahead. Let's check it out!

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

We thought we'd go and have a look at the municipal campground. We walked in the direction of the signs but we never found the campground but we did find this.

What a neat playground! Sure must be fun to be a kid in Nakusp!

Tomorrow we are going to visit the Nakusp Hot Springs, up in the hills above Nakusp.

Join us then!
