We left Pleasant Valley RV Park just after 9 a.m. this morning and headed south towards Lincoln City.
The weather had certainly changed. After yesterday's warm temps, the cloud and cool 14C was a bit of a shock. We stopped at Pirate Coffee in Lincoln City hoping to catch some wifi, but not at this cafe!
Oregon State Parks - where you can't see your neighbours!
Not into camping?? Rent a yurt!!
We continued south and by about noon reached Newport. After a quick stop at Staples to pick up some printer ink, we were on our way again.
Next stop - Jessie M. Honeyman State Park. I had camped here decades ago but not Jennie.
This State Park is very large and is part of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. The dunes stretch from here all the way south to Coos Bay. Jen and I walked up the trail to the edge of the dunes.
JM Honeyman State Park has about 6 yurts that you can rent, so if you want to spend some time playing in the dunes - dune buggy rides, ATVs, etc. - check it out. When the weather cooperates, there's nothing more fun than tearing around the dunes on a dune buggy! Been there, done that (many years ago!)
Guess what we had for dinner last night? A nice salad and the remainder of the chicken! Hurray! No more chicken for a while!
Tomorrow we head south to Port Orford and Camp Blanco RV Park. We'll see you there.
