Feb 23 - Veterans' PTSD Burger & Beer Awareness Dinner
Just after we arrived at Salmon Point, one of our campground neighbours, Susan, told us about this event. We figured anything to do with veterans and PTSD was a worthy cause, so we signed up.
Susan's husband, Dennis, said he would add us to their table reservation. We arrived just before 7 p.m., found "our" table and promptly met three other couples - Sheila and Bennett from London, Ontario; Eunice & Graham from Saskatoon; and September and Ralph. September works in the office at the park.
Sheila told Jen that they had a "way-too-big" 38-foot fifth wheel trailer - they will be looking for something smaller when they get home in a few months. Eunice & Graham have a nice-sized Class C which capably tows their Honda CRV.
We had a great time for a good cause. We were actually the last group to leave just before 9 p.m. I was told the pub raised over $600 from the event. Good on 'em!
