Another cool night, but when we left this morning for breakfast, the sun was starting to warm us up. We were heading for Smitty's Restaurant in Comox but decided instead to stop at The Diner just a few kms down the highway. Breakfast was great - made with all local stuff: eggs, sourdough bread, etc.

After breaky we decided to head for the Comox Air Force Museum. And we are sure glad we did.
Feb 25 - Breakfast & the Comox Air Force Museum
Before I knew it, it was time for afternoon tea, so I headed back to Ali.

During our chat over tea, we decided to head to the pub for some wings and beer - a fitting dinner we thought!

We've decided tomorrow will be a work day, so I'll see you Saturday. We're going to Campbell River to check out the 10th Annual Bald Eagle Festival.

Catch you then.

I took a lot of pictures of the displays. See them here.

Jen and I were both impressed with the quality of the displays, both in the text as well as the models. Everything was superb as you will see.
We learned a lot as we wandered around the museum. For instance, did you know that during WWII, over 1,400 Hurricane fighter planes were built in Fort William, Ontario and ferried to the UK? Neither did we!
Did you know that the Japanese launched over 9,000 balloon bombs that drifted east to North America? Apparently only 300 made landfall some as far east as Manitoba!

If you ever visit Comox, we highly recommend this museum.

We returned to Salmon Point just before 1 pm. I skyped with friend Gary in Bridgewater, NS. Afterwards, while Jen had her afternoon rest, I went for a walk and ended up sitting in the sunshine on the beach. It was lovely!
