In Moses Lake last night the sun set. This picture doesn't do the sunset justice, but perhaps you can imagine.
This morning was shattered (very early) by the start of the big-mouth bass tourney. These mild-mannered-looking fishing boats literally tore out of the starting gate, rooster tails in tow! I'd chatted with one of the competitors yesterday afternoon. These fishing competitions are a BIG deal with a lot of guys. When you bring home a cheque for $10,000 for a weekend's fishing, everyone is happy!

So with an early start, we headed north up the Columbia River valley to Coulee City then turned east towards Coeur d'Alene. The plan today was to stay off I90 and were we ever glad we did!

Then we happened upon a fishing derby. Boats littered the lake, RVs were scattered along the shoreline, people fishing everywhere. Just think of the poor fish!
Many years ago we visited the Grand Coulee dam. We also visited the Dry Falls State Park. We had an opportunity to visit the Falls again today – still very impressive. Hope you think so too.
As we continued our drive along Hwy 2, it was time for a coffee break. Oops, missed that town park in Hartline; we'll stop in Almira. Okay, that won't work, we better continue on, the town of Wilbur is next. Darn, missed the turn to the town park, but next turn right oughta do it. We pulled up next to the town park in Wilbur and enjoyed a morning coffee in the sunshine.
After coffee, we continued along Hwy 2 east towards Spokane through acres and acres of green growing grass. We thought it might be Rye grass.
