Apr 27 - Treaty Rock & Post Falls Dam (again), Post Falls, ID
After a couple of "chore" stops, Jen was getting tired – a lot of walking this morning – so we headed back to the park for a coffee and a rest for Jen. The clouds rolled in and it started raining on and off. That may be it for today.

Today the tour director has chosen petroglyphs at Treaty Rock park in Post Falls as the day's first item. So we headed off in the sunshine – wow, the weather certainly has been a pleasant surprise.

We drove leisurely along Seltice Way, parallel to but not nearly as busy as Interstate 90, to the park. Seltice Way is named after Chief Seltice of the Coeur d'Alene Indians. Apparently the chief was instrumental one winter in helping the settlers survive the cold winter.
Hard to see because of the plexiglass cover, but can you also see the red petroglyph? (in yellow circle)
Item ticked off, we headed back to the Post Falls dam.

I got completely messed up with my (video) description of the falls a few days ago. So we returned to do another video with a correct description of the function of the dam – it regulates the level of Coeur d'Alene lake. When we visited the other day, everything was open. Today the large metal dam plate on the far side was closed. Here are the two pictures so you can see the difference:

It turns out that the city has quite a public art collection, including these two feathers along Northwest Blvd on the way into Coeur d'Alene.
